Utensils, tools and other small items in a room were stored in tansu or wooden "chests", which can be moved from place to place. There are hundreds of kinds of tansu, almost all of which are considered antiques today.
Here is a particular species of tansu, called a "gyoshobako." It was used by peddlers to carry salt, cloth, thread, spices, and tools from town to town. The Readme.txt file gives its history.
It is available in three different file formats, and makes a great addition to any room.
NEW - Accessory Pak 4 contains a winter bonsai and Hiroshigi chapbook modeled after real items, plus other high resolution items.
The center thumbnail at the bottom leads to the Zashiki Room Funishings Add-On Package for the Edo Small House building.
Here are two complete sets of lights - one an Andon package (wood framed lights) and the other a Cochin package (hanging paper lanterns).
