This part of the Expanding Wave store is the "closet" - a place for models that are not Japanese-themed.

The first items in the "oshiire" are the various models of the Wooden Boat Series.

These are offered in the belief that there ought to be a source of well-made boats for water scenes that don't cost much. Making water scenes is one of the true pleasures of 3D modelling and scene-building.

Accordingly, no boat model in this collection costs more than $15.00. All can be had in a variety of formats, including *.3ds, Vue.vob files, Poser.obj and Bryce file formats.

In general, Asian boats and Western boats differ substantially in their basic architecture. Western boats have vertical ribs, with external planking that follows the countours of the ribs. Asian boats developed along different lines - using more of a horizontal box arrangement of planks. (Asian boats will be found in the main Expandingwave store.)
