This package contains two sets of pieces from the Edo Period.

The first is the twelve panels of "The Pines" by Hasegawa Tohaku (Momoyama Period). This silk painting is declared a National Treasure, and currently resides in the Tokyo National Museaum. (Go here.) This model of the silk painting is framed in old growth cherry wood. The table below also is of old cherry.

The second set of items are the "parent porcelain" - a series of eight bottles, vases and plates whose design was first struck early in the Edo period. The curves of these objects are mathematical regularities of four points. These pottery shapes came to influence all modern design of such objects.
