No Japanese sword is complete without a means to maintain its longevity and usefulness.

The Teiregubako contains all of the elements used just for this purpose:

A wooden box with removable lid in which to store the components * Abura - bottle of oil used to protect sword blade * Cotton cloth - used to remove dirt and oil from blade * Mekuginuki - brass hammer used to remove and reinsert "mekugi" (hilt pin) * Shokami - rice paper to spread oil over blade * Uchito - powder ball with which to apply coating of limestone powder for light polishing of blade.

Each piece is meticulously textured to achieve realism and authenticity.
