This package contains three high-resolution, finely-detailed models of wagasa (traditional paper and bamboo umbrellas) for men or boys.

All parts of the wagasa are modeled, except for the intricate basketry or cotton stringing appearing inside the wagasa at the base of the ribs. Unlike models of wagasa in other places, all 50 ribs and struts, and the bamboo pole are modeled correctly on these wagasa and the paper is realistic.

The same base model is used for each of these wagasa, but the paper design, washi and and bamboo textures of the pieces are slightly different among the three models. The color schemes and papers used are authentic for the Edo Period. These same basic wagasa are widely used by men today.
