Spiralstaircase, a Realflow user asked how to use Realwave to create a moving animation of the Rhone River as seen near Lyon, France. He is interested in recreating the general rippling river surface, plus circular vortices that form in the river
A set of tutorials is in preparation for this purpose. The tutorials are tied together by an illustrated document which can be downloaded from this link. This document remains in draft form, but was updated on August 24th, 2017. Rhone River Tutorial-Draft
In the beginning of the document, I’ve attempted to provide a plain-language overview of how the Realwave and Dyverso solvers work and can be used to approach a project such as the Rhone. I’ve also laid out a method for working with Realwave, as opposed to the more straightforward scene development methods typical of the other Realflow solver systems. I would very much appreciate any comments on this first section of the tutorial document.
The bulk of the draft document and the first of the tutorial scenes are posted here. The image above is one display of the Rhone as made with the Dyverso solver.
